The Indy Design Week Board of Directors serves as the official decision makers of Indy Design Week. Board members are expected to represent the entire IDW organization to the best of their ability, following our mission and the board position description.
Our organization would not exist without passionate volunteers, and the board is no different. All IDW board members are volunteer-based and are in no way tied to compensation, incentives, or bonuses.
The Director of Programming plays a crucial role in shaping the content & experience of Indy Design Week; leading the selection and curation of events, workshops, and speakers.
The Director of Sponsorship is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure financial and in-kind sponsorship support for the event.
The Director of Tech will help us maintain a positive digital presence by ensuring our website is engaging and easy to navigate. In addition to the website, this position will assist with creating a positive online experience for attendees, from ticketing to virtual talks and beyond.
The Marketing Director is a pivotal role focused on developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the event and engage the design community.
The Social Media Chair for Indy Design Week is a key volunteer position responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to promote the event and engage with the design community. The chair will work directly with and assist the Director of Communications and Marketing Director.
Joining the board is a two year commitment for directors and a one year commitment for chairs. You can always, of course, stay on longer; each year you will be given the opportunity to stay on the board, change roles, or move onto other pursuits. Your responsibilities will vary based on your role/skills, but all board members are expected to:
